Our Story

More than Great Food

BP Smokehouse has its roots in the truest form of BBQ.  Our love for BBQ began in the summer of 1999 when we went to our first BBQ Competition.  We were spectators eager to sample delicious BBQ and learn a few smoking tips and tricks. 


We started with a small smoker and trailer and began to compete nationally on the BBQ circuit.  We've learned a lot, won some BBQ Championships and made some tremendous friendships along the way. 

Over the years, we honed our craft by traveling across the country competing in local, regional, and national BBQ Competitions.  Fast forward a few years and we launched our catering business which is the cornerstone of BP Smokehouse.  Today, this family owned business, led by husband & wife (Darren & Myra Price), continues to offer the best BBQ for all kinds of catering functions. 


BP Smokehouse opened a 60 seat dine-in restaurant in 2014 in Tomah, WI, offering a wide selection of menu items and a comfortable sit-down atmosphere for our customers.  We continue to cater corporate events, weddings, special events, and everything in between.  Driven by our passion and commitment to providing the very best BBQ while delivering first-class customer service is our mission.

33rd Annual American Royal World Series of Barbecue® Sauce Contest

The contest is the largest BBQ sauce contest in the world with entries competing from 35 states and 7 countries.
Each entry was judged in a blind tasting on their appearance, texture, taste alone, and taste on unseasoned barbecue meat.
